My Love Is She

(Gaol ise gaol i)

Ref. 366

"My Love Is She" ("Gaol Ise gaol i") is a traditional Scottish Gaelic waulking song (òran luaidh). Waulking songs were traditionally sung a cappella by groups of women in the Scottish Highlands and Islands while beating (waulking) newly woven tweed against a wooden board or table to shrink and soften it. The rhythm of the work dictated the heavy, pulsing beat of the music. Arranged for accordion.
